In 2018 to celebrate Whisky, the Perth Mint on behalf of the issuing country of Tuvalu struck a very Limited Issue Whisky $50 Fifty Dollar Gold Proof Coin struck in solid fine 99.99% pure Gold weighing two ounces of Gold with a High Relief and includes a capsule of the oldest known vintage Whisky in the world Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862.

The reverse design features images of whisky production and starts with malting and ends with bottling while the obverse bears the elegant portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.

The whisky was courtesy of a famous British collector of rare alcoholic beverages and owner of The Whisky Exchange.
