British Lunar Coins
| In 2014 for the first time in history, the Royal Mint is issuing British Lunar Coins struck in solid fine .999 Silver and solid fine .9999 Gold. The first coin in the series was the Lunar Horse and has been issued in Gold with a £500 Gold Proof 5oz Coin, £100 One Pound Coin struck in Brilliant Uncirculated and Gold Proof condition both weighing one ounce of pure Gold, a Brilliant Uncirculated £10 Ten Pound Gold 1/10oz Coin. Issued in Silver a £10 Ten Pound Silver Proof Coin, £2 Two Pound Silver Proof Coin and a Brilliant Uncirculated £2 Two Pound Silver Coin and have been released every year since. In 2016 for the first time, the Royal Mint will produce a £1000 Gold Proof Coin and a £500 Silver Proof Coin both weighing One Kilo respectively and in 2020 a £25 Gold Proof Coin weighing one quarter of an ounce of pure Gold. |
