Returns and Exchanges with Receipt
The London Coin Company offers exchanges or refunds within 14 days of the invoice date. These are processed via the original payment method provided the items are received in their original condition. Products originally sold as "Mint Sealed" will not be accepted for return if the seal is broken.
Precious Metal Coins
Under Regulation 13 of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, the right to cancel does not apply to Gold, Silver, or Platinum coins. This is because prices depend on financial market fluctuations beyond our control.
Cancellation Fees
A cancellation charge of 15% of the total order value applies to the following scenarios:
Pre-stock items:
Orders cancelled before coming into stock due to price fluctuations. The buyer is also liable for any consequential loss resulting from metal price changes.
Shipped items:
Orders returned because the buyer refused delivery or failed to collect the parcel. All associated return costs will also be charged to the buyer.
Standard orders and Layaway:
Orders where payment or a deposit has been made, including items held under the layaway scheme.
Price Adjustments
If an exchanged item differs in price from the original:
- Higher price: The price difference will be invoiced to the buyer.
- Lower price: The difference will be refunded accordingly.
Payment Provider Fees
If an order paid via PayPal, Debit Card, or Credit Card is cancelled and a refund is requested instead of an exchange, the refund total will be minus any non-refundable transaction fees retained by PayPal, WorldPay, or Stripe.
Returns or Exchanges without Receipt
Returns Without Original Receipt
The London Coin Company offers refunds or exchanges for items returned without an original invoice within 14 days of the invoice date. These transactions are processed based on the current buying price of the goods.
Shipping and Postage Refunds
Postage costs are non-refundable unless the item is faulty, defective, or incorrectly described.
Fraud Prevention:
To prevent the swapping of coins with personal stock, all claims for damaged or distressed items are investigated by the Returns Department.
Verification:
All items are inspected by the shipping team prior to original dispatch; therefore, returns are cross-referenced against these records before an exchange or refund is authorised.
Returns Due to Change of Mind
If you decide you no longer want an item upon receipt:
- A 15% re-stocking fee applies to all refunds.
- This fee is waived if the item is exchanged for another of equal or higher value, or if previously agreed upon by The London Coin Company.
Return Instructions
Items must be returned in their original condition. Products originally sold as "Mint Sealed" will be rejected if the seal is broken or the package has been opened.
