Payment Policy

The London Coin Company Ltd expects to receive payment for any order placed as outlined below unless prior agreement is obtained. We reserve the right to cancel any order not paid for within this timescale.

WorldPay, Stripe & Klarna

We accept Debit and Credit Card payments for orders up to a maximum of £5,000

  • Additional identification for security may be required for orders over £2,500 and only available to customers who use payment methods that support 3D Secure.

PayPal

We accept PayPal from verified users for orders up to a maximum of £2,500.

  • If Paypal is used as a form of payment and an order wants to be cancelled, if a refund is chosen instead of an exchange, any fees which are incurred by Paypal will be subtracted from your total refund.

Bank Transfers

Bank Transfers are required for orders over £5,000.

To pay via bank transfer, select this option during checkout to view our details on your invoice; alternatively, contact us to receive this information on request. Payments must be sent from the bank account of the person who placed the order and received within three days of the invoice date for UK customers, or five days for international customers.

UK Personal & Business Cheques

Cheque payments require five working days for clearance from the date the cheque is banked. Clearance times may occasionally be longer for larger orders due to security protocols. Please note that the maximum order amount for this payment method is £250.

UK Postal Orders

Maximum order amount of £100

Cash

Cash on collection is available for orders of £2,500 and above. Cash payments may also be sent via Special Delivery, International Signed For, or courier.

We accept Pound Sterling, Euros, or US Dollars; please ensure the method used provides proof of delivery to confirm our receipt of the funds.

Payment Terms

  1. PayPal Payments: Payments via PayPal are accepted only from "Confirmed & Verified" users, unless a prior arrangement exists or the buyer has an established client history with us. If you are unsure of your status, please contact us before placing an order.
  2. Identification Requirements: To comply with anti-money laundering regulations, we may require further evidence of identification. This is particularly applicable to gold sales.
  3. Transaction Validity: We reserve the right to decline any order paid via PayPal, credit card, debit card, or bank transfer if we are not satisfied with the validity of the transaction.
  4. Declined Payments: Should a payment be declined, an alternative method—such as bank transfer—will be required to complete the order. We will not accept a different PayPal account as an alternative unless the buyer has a previous client history with us.

Fraud Prevention & ID Verification Requirements

In certain circumstances, customers must provide certified proof of identity to comply with anti-money laundering and fraud legislation, or to satisfy internal security checks for safe product delivery. When proof of address is requested, mobile phone bills are not accepted.

For orders exceeding £5,000, or cumulative orders exceeding £10,000 within a single year, we require a certified copy of the purchaser’s photographic ID and a recent utility bill, regardless of the payment method used.

Personal information may be used to conduct anti-fraud checks and may be shared with credit reference or fraud prevention agencies. All data is processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We are committed to the elimination of money laundering and will act where we identify risks connected to the trade, handling, transport, or export of precious metals.
