For 2013, for the first time ever the Royal Mint released the Britannia £2 Two Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver and weighing one ounce of pure Silver and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR68 DCAM First Strike.

The reverse designed by Robert Hunt depicts Britannia facing left as is traditional, but turns her upper body in a listening pose with an Owl perched on her knee which is a traditional symbol of wisdom.
The obverse design has Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
