2013 Australia Holy Dollar Dump $10 Gold Proof 1/10oz Coin Box Coa

For 2013 the Royal Australian Mint released a very Limited Issue Holy Dollar and Dump $10 Ten Dollar Gold Proof Coin struck in solid fine .9999 Gold weighing one-tenth of an ounce of pure Gold.

The reverse designed by William Henshall commemorates the 200th Anniversary since Governor Macquarie saw the need for a common currency that couldn't be drunk or lost to overseas merchants.

Convict forger William Henshall was given the job of creating new coins from Spanish 'pieces of eight'.
The center of each coin was cut out, and each part then counter stamped with New South Wales 1813 and it's new value, which was intentionally inflated beyond that of the coin's silver content.
The obverse has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
