2008 Britannia Silver Proof 4 Coin Set Box Coa

In 2008 the Royal Mint released a very special Limited Issue Britannia Silver Proof 4 Coin Set struck in solid fine .958 Silver and includes the £2 Two Pound, £1 One Pound, 50p Fifty Pence and 20p Twenty Pence Coins.

A beautiful new portrait of Britannia has been created, the designer, John Bergdahl, has created a standing portrait of Britannia. The portrait is new and refreshing yet remains true to her character depicting her as an elegant, yet commanding, figure standing watch on the windswept shore incorporating the motifs of the lighthouse, the trident, the shield and the helmet that have long been associated with the numismatic image of Britannia.
The reverse of all the coins is the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
