In 2007 to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the First American Eagle Platinum Coin, the United States Mint released a very Limited Issue Liberty Eagle $50 Fifty Dollar Platinum Reverse Proof Coin struck in solid .9995 Platinum weighing one half of an ounce of pure Platinum and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70.
The American Eagle Platinum Coin features a frosted background and an enhanced brilliant, mirror-like finish on the raised elements of the coin.The coin features a design symbolic of Liberty on the obverse. On the reverse is a design of Bald Eagle with its wings spread wide to represent freedom, with a shield at the ready to enforce the laws that guarantee this freedom.
The coin has the inscription of the denominations, the weight of the platinum content, the year of minting of issuance, the words 'Liberty', "In God We Trust", United States of America , and a reeded edge, as stipulated by Law.
