In 2006 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Victoria Cross, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Victoria Cross 50p Fifty Pence Gold Proof 2 Coin Set struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.
One of the coins commemorates the Victoria Cross Award and the other Heroic Acts.
The obverse of both coins has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
