2005 St George and the Dragon £2 Double Sovereign Gold Proof Coin - Timothy Noad

For 2005 the Royal Mint released a very special £2 Two Pound Gold Proof Double Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold and features a new portrayal of St George and The Dragon.

Created by Timothy Noad, this modern interpretation of the centuries old story depicts St George locked in combat with The Dragon.
The obverse is the stunning portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
