In 2002 to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of Lady Diana Spencer, the Royal Mint on behalf of the Channel Islands of Alderney released a very Limited Issue Lady Diana £25 Twenty Five Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold to mark this special occasion.

The reverse depicts a portrait of Lady Diana while obverse has a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
