In 1999 to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the discovery of Aruba, the Mint released a Limited Issue 25 Florin Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.
The reverse designed by John Fingal features Vespucci, a sailing ship and map showing Aruba while the obverse also by John Fingal depicts a Spanish Fan, the wording Tradition with Vision and the dates 1499 - 1999.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
