In 1997, to celebrate the Hong Kong Expo, the Bank of China released a very Limited Issue Panda 5 Yuan Silver Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver weighing one half ounce of solid pure silver with a special one off design specially made for the 5 Yuan and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as MS69.

The reverse design of Panda coins changes each year, while the obverse design features the Temple of Heaven building in Beijing.
