In 1976 on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman Qabus Bin Saidi, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Fort Mirbat Omani Half Rial Gold Proof Coin struck in solid .917 Gold and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR66 DCAM.

The reverse features Fort Mirbat with the value and date while the obverse depicts the National Arms of Oman.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
