Explore our collection of Wallace and Gromit Coins , celebrating one of Britain's most beloved animated duos. Created by Nick Park and produced by Aardman Animations , Wallace and Gromit have delighted audiences around the world since their first appearance in the animated short film A Grand Day Out.

In 2019, the duo received their first official UK coin release from the The Royal Mint, commemorating the 30th anniversary of A Grand Day Out. The design, created by Nick Park and the Aardman team, depicts Wallace and Gromit peering from the porthole of their famous rocket on their journey to the Moon. The coin also features the Latin inscription "CASEUS PRAESTANS", meaning "cracking cheese"—a fitting tribute to Wallace's favourite food.

The First Wallace and Gromit Coin

The inaugural Wallace and Gromit coin was issued as a UK 50p and was available in several collector formats, including:

The Silver Proof edition was struck in sterling silver and issued in a limited presentation edition, while the Gold Proof version was produced in 22-carat gold with a worldwide mintage of just 624 pieces, making it one of the most desirable releases in the series.

With their distinctive designs, limited mintages, and connection to one of Britain's most successful animated franchises, Wallace and Gromit Coins remain a charming and highly collectable part of modern British numismatics.
