| In 1998 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the NHS - National Health Service, the Royal Mint released a special range of Limited Issue NHS 50p Fifty Pence Coins struck in Gold Proof, Piedfort Silver Proof, Silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The reverse designed by David Cornell features a pair of hands set against a pattern of radiating lines reflects the hopes and aspiration of the NHS at its inception, symbolising as it does the dawn of a new and caring age. |
