In 2022 to celebrate Dame Vera Lynn, the Royal Mint is releasing a Limited Issue Dame Vera Lynn £2 Two Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.
The reverse designed by the Royal Mint design team features a portrait of Dame Vera Lynn as she appeared during the height of her fame. During the Second World War, her iconic renditions of classic songs such as ‘We’ll Meet Again’ earned her eternal residency within the hearts of many, whilst her charity work only enhanced her legacy. while the obverse depicts the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
