In 2020 to celebrate the Olympic Games held in Tokyo and Team GB's participation which has now been postponed until 2021, the Royal Mint have released a special Limited Issue Tokyo Olympic Games Team GB 50p Fifty Pence Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM.

The reverse designed David Knapton features some of the different sports equipment used at the Tokyo Olympic Games while the obverse design depicts the Fifth Portrait of Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
