In 2018 to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Struck on the Day Sapphire Coronation Celebration St George and the Dragon Gold Full Sovereign Coin struck with a plain edge in solid 22 Carat Gold struck on Saturday 2nd June 2018 the day of the Sapphire Coronation celebrations and features a special Privy Mark and is the official Queen's Coronation Gold Full Sovereign Coin Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as MS70 DMPL.

Pistrucci's St George and The Dragon, seemingly inseparable from the British Sovereign, is acclaimed throughout the world as a masterpiece of numismatic art.

It's appeal has been so enduring that, with the sole exception of the special 1989 commemorative coins, it has graced the reverse of nearly every British sovereign since Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887.

The reverse design of the Sapphire Coronation 2018 Gold Full Sovereign features Pistrucci's St George and The Dragon with a special Privy Mark 65 with a Crown while the obverse depicts the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
