In 2015 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Back to the Future, the Perth Mint on behalf of the issuing country of Tuvalu released a very Limited Issue Back to the Future Hoverboard $2 Two Dollar Silver Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver and weighing two ounces of pure Silver.

The reverse design depicts an image of Marty McFly's Hoverboard as shown in Back to the Future II and is presented in a special presentation which makes the coin appear to be suspended and hovering within the case.
The obverse design features the elegant portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley .
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
