In 2011 the Perth Mint released a very Limited Issue Deadly and Dangerous Box Jellyfish $1 One Dollar Silver Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver and weighing one ounce of pure Silver from the issuing country of Tuvalu and is the sixth in the series of Deadly and Dangerous.

Found off Northern Australia, the Box Jellyfish is, according to the Australian Institute of Marine Science, 'Claimed to be the most venomous marine animal known'. An astonishing life form, it can grow up to 15 tentacles, each with a length of up to 3 Metres, from each corner of the cubic bell from which it takes its name.

The reverse depicts a Box Jellyfish while the obverse bears the elegant portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
