The reverse of each coin depicts typical football images, remaining truly South African by featuring national symbols and elements derived from the various Coat of Arms of the host provinces and from the South African coat of Arms.
The obverse of each coin features the year the coin was minted with the words "South Africa" and the national Coat of Arms. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
