In 2006 to celebrate the Queens 80th Birthday, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue 10p Ten Pence Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver .

The reverse design depicts part of the crest of England, a lion passant guardant royally crowned and designed by Christopher Ironside.
The obverse features the portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank Broadley FRBS, FSNAD.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
