2003 Coronation Jubilee Full Sovereign Gold Proof Coin First Day Cover

In 2003 to celebrate the Queens Coronation Jubilee, the Royal Mint in conjunction with Westminster released a special Limited Issue St George and the Dragon Gold Proof Full Sovereign Coin First Day Cover struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.

The Queens Coronation Jubilee Gold Proof Sovereign Coin Cover features the acclaimed 2003 Royal Mint 22 Carat Gold Proof Full Sovereign Coin and the new Royal Mail Stamp Pane and is postmarked 1st January 2003, the first day of the Coronation year.
The obverse bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
