| The British Britannia Silver Proof 1oz Coin was first struck by the Royal Mint in 1997 and struck in Silver Proof and Silver Bullion or Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each Britannia Two Pound Silver Proof Coin contains one ounce of pure Silver and in 2013 the Royal Mint changed the metal content purity from .958 Silver to fine .999 Silver. From 1997 till 2012 the weight was 32.45 Grams with a diameter of 40.00mm and from 2013 on-wards the weight was 31.21 Grams with a diameter of 38.61mm. |
