1997 Jersey Golden Wedding £5 Silver Proof Coin First Day Cover

In 1997 to celebrate the Golden Wedding Anniversary of The Queen and Prince Philip, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue £5 Five Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver with a 24 Carat Gold plating on behalf of Jersey.

The reverse design depicts a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip and Westminster Abbey in the background while the obverse is a portrait of the Queen by Raphael Maklouf.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
