In 1995 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, the Royal Mint of Belgium released a very Limited Issue United Nations 5 Five Ecu Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.
The reverse design has the official 'UN50' Anniversary Logo and the dates 1945 - 1995 and twelve stars surrounding the logo while the obverse design has a portrait of King Albert II, the value and country and the year of minting. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
