In 1994 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings, on behalf of Alderney the Royal Mint released a Limited Issue Brilliant Uncirculated D-Day Landings £2 Two Pound Coin.

The reverse design is by the artist and sculptor John Savage, and depicts assault landing craft, commandos, HMS Ajax which was in the Battle of the River Plate, and Spitfire fighters.
The obverse features a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf.
