In 1986 for the first time ever, the United States Mint released a very Limited Issue Liberty Eagle $50 Fifty Dollar Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold and weighs one ounce of pure Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.

The coin features a design symbolic of Liberty on the obverse.
On the reverse is a design representing a family of eagles, with the male eagle carrying an olive branch and flying above a nest containing a female eagle and hatchlings.
The coins have the inscription of the denominations, the weight of the gold content, the year of minting of issuance, the words Liberty, In God We Trust, United States of America, and a reeded edge, as stipulated by Law.
