In 1978 to celebrate 5th Anniversary of Bahamas Independence, the Royal Mint on behalf of the Bahamas released a very Limited Issue Prince Charles $10 Ten Dollar Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .500 Silver.
The reverse design features a portrait of Prince Charles and the writing 'Fifth Anniversary of Independence 10 July 1973' while the obverse depicts the the Royal Arms of the Bahamas. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
