In 2017 to celebrate the Chimes of History, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Chimes of History Big Ben £2 Two Pound Silver Proof Reverse Frosted 2 Coin Set struck in solid fine .999 Silver each weighing one ounce of pure Silver.
The reverse designed by Laura Clancy and Glyn Davies features Big Ben in Silver Proof and one in Frosted Reverse Proof while the obverse of each coin features the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
