In 2016 to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of William Shakespeare, the Royal Mint released a very special Limited Issue William Shakespeare £50 Fifty Pound Silver Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver weighing one ounce of fine pure Silver.

The reverse design features an original design by artist John Bergdahl and his choice of two masks portrayed as the writer himself perfectly captures the two sides of Shakespeare – Comedy and Tragedy.
The obverse features the stunning Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II both designed by Jody Clark.
