In 2016 to commemorate Remembrance Day, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Poppy £5 Five Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver colourised by the Royal Mint.

The reverse designed by Thomas Docherty and features the poppy wreath – a symbol used by nations across the world to remember and commemorate the fallen while the obverse design depicts the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley FRBS.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
