In 2009, to celebrate Classic British Motor Cars and the 50th Anniversary of the Mini-Motor Car, the Royal Mint released on behalf of Alderney a Limited Issue Mini-Motor Car £5 Five Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.

The reverse design depicts a different section of the Mini-Motor Car while the obverse has Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
