2008 Royal Shield of Arms £1 Gold Proof Coin PCGS PR69 DCAM

In 2008, for the first time, the Royal Mint released a very Limited-Issue Royal Shield of Arms £1 One Pound Gold Proof Coin, struck in solid 22 Carat Gold, Certified, Slabbed, and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM with special NFC Anti-Counterfeiting Technology.

The £1 One Pound Coin, designed by Matthew Dent, features the Royal Shield of Arms, while the obverse features Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
