In 2005 to commemorate 60th Anniversary of World War II and Victory in Europe, and the Canadian Maple Leaf the Royal Canadian Mint released a very special Limited Issue $5 Five Dollar Silver Specimen Coin struck in solid .9999 Silver weighing one ounce of pure Silver.

The reverse designed by Peter Mossman depicts the Maple Leaf in the background with portraits of military personal from Navy, Army and Air Force and the Victorious letter ”V” that was inspired by Winston Churchill while the obverse has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
