In 2003, to celebrate Prince William's 21st Birthday, on 21st June 2003, the Royal Mint, on behalf of the Channel Islands of Alderney, released this special Limited Issue Prince William £25 Twenty Five Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.
The reverse of the coin, designed by sculptor David Cornell, shows a portrait of the Prince alongside his Coat of Arms. The obverse features Raphael Maklouf's elegant effigy of the Queen. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
