In 2003 to celebrate the Final Flight of Concorde and almost three decades of supersonic travel, the Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue Concorde £5 Five Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.

In October 2003, Concorde makes her final flight.
For twenty-seven years the supersonic aircraft has fascinated people around the world and it was a sad day when British Airways and Air France announced that she would be permanently grounded from Autumn 2003, bringing to an end a significant chapter in the history of aviation.

Designed by Royal Mint Engraver Emma Noble, the reverse features an image of Concorde in flight, superimposed upon an interpretation of the plane's undercarriage.
The obverse shows Raphael Maklouf's elegant portrait of Her Majesty the Queen.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
