In 2002 to celebrate the Queens Golden Jubilee, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue £1 One Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM.

The reverse, designed by Norman Sillman, depicts Three Lions of England, passant guardant while the obverse features Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
