In 1999, the Royal Mint in conjunction with the Bank of England released a very special Limited Issue £5 Five Pound Banknote and Millennium £5 Five Pound Coin Set to commemorate the Millennium.

The Uncirculated £5 Five Pound Banknote is of the current series in issue and shows the cypher YR19 99 and a serial number between 1 and 1,500.
The Bank of England have issued this cypher in honour of this very special occasion.

YR19 99 will not be produced for general circulation and therefore these are the only notes to have this cypher.
The new £5 Five Pound Crown of 1999 celebrates the Millennium with the Anno Domini design on the reverse and Ian Rank Broadley obverse design of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

A maximum of 1,000 sets will be issued.
