The new £5 Five Pound Crown of 1990 celebrates the 90th Birthday of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and is struck in Sterling (.925) Silver to Proof Quality.
The reverse design has been created by acclaimed silversmith Leslie Durbin.

The design features the Queen Mother's initial letter, in duplicate and interlaced, shown in the form of a cypher and ensigned by the Royal Crown. The obverse is the couped effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II Raphael Maklouf.
