1981 Royal Wedding Full Sovereign Gold Proof 25p Silver Proof Crown 2 Coin Set Box Coa
In 1981 to celebrate the Royal Wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles, the Royal Mint released this special Limited Issue Royal Wedding Gold and Silver Proof 2 Coin Set which includes the solid 22 Carat Gold Proof Full Sovereign Coin and the Royal Wedding 25p Twenty Five Pence Silver Proof Crown Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.
The reverse design of the Sovereign depicts the classical design of St George Slaying the Dragon. The obverse shows Arnold Machin portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which has appeared on nearly all United Kingdoms coinage since 1968.
The reverse of the Royal Marriage Silver Proof Crown features profile portraits of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, a design by Philip Nathan while the obverse design is the famous portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Arnold Machin.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
