In 1976 the Franklin Mint on behalf of Panama released a very special Limited Issue Simon Bolivar Silver Proof 2 Coin Set.
Included in the set is the 20 Twenty Balboa Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver first issued in 1971 and was the largest legal tender Silver coin in the world and the 2.5 Two and Half Centesimos Silver Proof Coin also known as the 'Panama Pill' also struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.
The reverse of both coins depict the portrait of Simon Bolivar while obverse is the Coat of Arms of Panama. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
