1818 King George III Crowned Shield Gold Half Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by NGC as MS63.

The reverse depicts a Crowned Shield while the obverse has the Laur Head portrait of George III.
In 1817 after the Royal Mint had moved from the Tower of London to a site on Tower Hill, full production got under way and coinage changed from the old Guinea to the Sovereign.

The launch of the first sovereign designed by Benedetto Pistrucc i has the stunning St George and the Dragon on the reverse and the obverse has a portrait of George III.
1816 which was a landmark in the history of coinage.
After the Royal Mint had moved from the Tower Mint to another site in Tower Hill full regular production was under way.
